The Benchmade 916SBK Triage is a purpose-built tactical rescue folding knife designed primarily for first responders, EMTs, firefighters, law enforcement, and military use. It combines a blunt-tip blade (to minimize risk of accidental punctures when cutting clothing or restraints), a hidden rescue hook (strap/seatbelt cutter), and a carbide glass breaker into one compact, durable tool.
Key Features
- Blade: 3.40–3.50" opposing bevel blunt-tip design with a partially serrated (combo) edge. Made from Bohler N680 stainless steel (highly corrosion-resistant, ideal for wet or harsh environments; hardness 57-59 HRC). Black coated finish. The blunt tip and serrations excel at cutting fibrous materials like rope, webbing, clothing, or seatbelts without stabbing risk.
- Rescue Hook: Hidden 440C stainless steel strap cutter (hook-shaped safety cutter) deploys from the handle for quick cutting of belts or harnesses.
- Glass Breaker: Integrated carbide tip at the pommel for breaking vehicle windows in emergencies.
- Lock and Opening: Reliable AXIS® crossbar lock (ambidextrous and very secure). Dual thumb studs for manual opening.
- Handle: Textured black G-10 scales over full stainless steel liners for excellent grip, even when wet or gloved. Reversible deep-carry tip-up pocket clip.
- Build: Made in the USA. Solid, no-nonsense construction with full liners for strength.
