  • The Best Products

The Butler Creek ESC65 is the largest size in the Element Series lineup. It is designed specifically for high-magnification long-range scopes that feature massive objective lenses.

While the "65" in the name refers to the upper limit of its fit range, it is the go-to choice for most 56mm objective scopes because the outer housing (the objective bell) of those scopes usually measures between 62mm and 65mm.

Key Specifications

  • Model Number: ESC65
  • Material: High-strength polymer lid with a stretchable rubber sleeve.

The "Element" Advantage

The ESC65 is designed for harsher conditions and more customization than the basic models:

  • Flexible Positioning: The lid has two open positions: 180° (straight up) for reading your data disk, and 270° (folded back flat) to stay out of your field of view and prevent snagging.
  • Extreme Durability: Uses stainless steel hardware and a more impact-resistant polymer than the standard Flip-Open series.

Modular Disk System: It comes with three interchangeable inserts for the lid:

  1. Black Disk: Solid protection to minimize sunlight.
  2. Clear Disk: Allows you to see through the scope even with the cap closed (great for sudden shots in rain/snow).
  3. Data Disk: A printable template (dope disk) where you can record your ballistics/elevation data for quick reference.

Pro-Tips for Installation

  • Measurement: Always measure the outside diameter of your scope's objective bell with calipers. Do not rely on the lens size (e.g., a 50mm lens usually has an outside bell diameter closer to 58-60mm).
  • Tight Fit: If your scope is at the very bottom of the range (exactly 60mm) and feels slightly loose, a single wrap of electrical tape around the scope bell will create a rock-solid friction fit.
  • Orientation: You can rotate the rubber sleeve to have the cap flip up, down, or to the side, depending on your turret clearance.
