The award-winning Cryo is also available in a 20% larger size. Designed by Rick Hinderer, the Cryo II has a bigger 3.25-inch, SpeedSafe-equipped blade. This larger sized Cryo II was built for those who simply demand more from their pocketknife. Like all Rick’s knives, the Cryo II benefits from Rick’s real-world experience as a fire fighter and EMT. It’s designed to be a sturdy knife that’s still aesthetically pleasing and feels good in the hand.
The Cyro II is pure stainless steel with matte gray titanium carbo-nitride (TiCN) coating. Three times as hard as chrome, TiCN offers excellent abrasion resistance and reduces friction on moving parts. Which means the Cryo II not only looks great but operates smoothly as well. Speaking of smooth, the SpeedSafe assisted opening guarantees the Cryo II opens quickly and easily, too. Though this is a larger knife, it's remarkably slim and rides comfortably deep in the pocket thanks to Kershaw's deep-carry clip.
