The Recover Tactical PIXPBFBR02 is the "Brace" version of the folding P-IX+ system in Tan (FDE).

If you are looking to avoid the tax stamp and the long wait times associated with registering a Short Barreled Rifle (SBR), this is the SKU you want. It replaces the shoulder stock with a stabilizing brace, designed to be used with one hand by strapping it to your forearm.

What’s Included in the PIXPBFBR02:

  • P-IX+ Chassis (Tan): The reinforced "Plus" version of the housing.
  • Folding Side Adapter: Allows the brace to fold to the side for ultra-compact storage.
  • Stabilizing Brace: A glass-reinforced polymer brace (usually the 20/20 style) instead of a buttstock.
  • PG9 Pistol Grip: The standard ergonomic AR-style grip.
  • Metal Front Guard (MFG): This model typically includes the metal heat shield to protect the chassis from muzzle blast.
  • Internal Hardware: The trigger linkage and the charging handle for your Glock slide.

Why Choose the "FBR" Model?

  1. Legal Status (2026 Update): As of early 2026, federal courts have vacated the ATF's restrictive "Pistol Brace Rule." This means that, at the federal level, attaching a brace to a pistol does not turn it into an SBR. You can legally own and use this configuration as a "pistol" without an NFA tax stamp.
  2. Compactness: The "F" in the SKU stands for Folding. When folded, the entire unit is small enough to fit into a small range bag or even some larger glove compartments.
  3. No Permanent Mods: Like all P-IX systems, your Glock drops in and out in under a minute without any permanent changes to the handgun.

mportant Considerations

  • State Laws: While federal law currently views this as a pistol, states like California, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois have their own specific "Assault Weapon" bans that may still prohibit this chassis due to features like the "shroud" or the way the grip is configured. Always check your local statutes.
  • Glock 34/35: Just like the stock version, if you use a long-slide Glock (G34/35), you may need to remove the Metal Front Guard for it to fit properly, though the G17 and G19 fit perfectly with the guard in place.
