The Steiner MPS-C (Micro Pistol Sight - Compact) is a specialized, ultra-compact version of the original "mailbox" MPS. Released in early 2026, it was specifically designed to bring Steiner's legendary enclosed-emitter durability to slimline and subcompact pistols (like the Glock 43X/48, Sig P365, or Hellcat).
The most significant change is the move away from the bulky ACRO footprint to the much smaller RMSc footprint.
Core Specifications
- SKU: 8700000039
UPC: 840229107384Reticle: 1.6 MOA Red Dot (optimized for precision at distance while remaining bright enough for speed).- Footprint: RMSc (Directly mounts to most micro-compact optic-ready slides).
- Weight: ~1.13 oz (Significantly lighter than the 2.05 oz original MPS).
- Battery: CR1632 (Top-loading, so you don't have to remove the optic to change it).
MPS vs. MPS-C: Key Differences
| Feature | Steiner MPS (Original) | Steiner MPS-C (Compact) |

| Dot Size | 3.3 MOA | 1.6 MOA |
| Weight | 2.05 oz | 1.13 oz |
| Shake-Awake | No (Auto-off only) | Yes |
| Window Size | 20 x 16 mm | 21 x 19 mm (Slightly wider) |
Performance Highlights
- The "Shake-Awake" Upgrade: One of the biggest complaints about the original MPS was the lack of motion-activation. The MPS-C finally includes Intelligent Power Activation, which stays asleep to save battery but wakes instantly when the firearm is moved.
- Lower Deck Height: Because it uses the RMSc footprint and lacks a thick baseplate, it sits incredibly low on the slide. This often allows for a co-witness with standard-height iron sights on many micro-compact pistols.
- Enclosed Protection: Unlike the open-emitter sights typically found on carry guns (like the Shield RMS or Holosun 407k), the MPS-C is fully sealed. This prevents lint, rain, or mud from blocking the laser emitter.
Note on Mounting: If you are trying to mount this to a full-size pistol with an RMR cut, you will need an RMR-to-RMSc adapter plate. However, this optic is best utilized on "Slimline" pistols where it can mount directly to the slide.
