Since we are now in 2026, the Glock Gen 6 has officially hit the market, and Timney was quick to release a dedicated version of their Alpha Competition series for the new platform.

While the Gen 6 maintains some internal similarities to the Gen 5, the updated frame geometry (including that new thumb ledge and modified trigger guard) required a specific SKU for the best fit and performance.

With a factory pull weight of 3 pounds, the Timney Alpha Competition trigger answers the long call for a trigger that has the same feel and performance that matches the reliability of the Glock system by providing an improved trigger design that does not sacrifice any part of the Glock reliability. Staying true to our time-honored promise to our customers, this trigger features a snap-in housing and can be installed easily without a gunsmith.

Important Gen 6 Compatibility Notes

  • Trigger Bar Changes: Although some enthusiasts have tried swapping Gen 5 bars into Gen 6 frames, the Gen 6 bar has slightly refined geometry to interact with the new slide assembly. It is highly recommended to use the specific Gen 6 Timney SKU rather than trying to "make a Gen 5 work."
  • Direct Drop-In: Like previous Alpha triggers, this is a "sear-verified" system. It transforms the Glock's "Safe Action" into a true single-action-style break.
  • Safety Warning: There have been reports in the community (on r/Glocks and various forums) regarding pre-travel adjustment. If you adjust the set screw too far to remove take-up, you can inadvertently deactivate the drop safety. Always perform a "mallet test" or use an armorer's backplate to check sear engagement after installation.
