Because .22 LR blowback systems rely entirely on the cartridge's physical energy to cycle the slide, rimfire conversion kits can be sensitive to ammunition selection. For maximum cycling reliability right out of the box, Advantage Arms strongly recommends using high-velocity plated round-nose ammunition, such as 40-grain CCI Mini-Mags or Remington Golden Bullets. Avoid using low-velocity target loads, subsonics, or unplated exposed-lead ammunition, as these can cause premature carbon fouling and short-cycling failures during your initial break-in period.
