The Aero Precision® AR15 XL Stripped Upper Receiver (APAR611310C) is a premium, purpose-built component engineered explicitly to host heavy-hitting, big-bore AR-15 cartridges. Standard mil-spec upper receivers are dimensioned with an ejection port scaled strictly for 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington casings. Attempting to run large-diameter cartridges through a standard receiver results in violent failure-to-eject (FTE) jams as the fat brass hulls catch on the frame. The Aero XL Upper (815421027433) completely eliminates this physical bottleneck, delivering a rugged, drop-in anchor optimized for specialized hunting and tactical thumper platforms.
Forged from ultra-durable 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and finished in a rich, Mil-Spec Type III Class 2 matte black hardcoat anodization, the XL receiver features a factory precision-enlarged ejection port door opening. This expanded relief clearance easily passes straight-walled or fat-bottleneck casings like the .458 SOCOM, .450 Bushmaster, and .50 Beowulf without internal case-mouth scarring or catching. Despite its cavernous port, the receiver maintains full standard external footprints—meaning it drops directly onto any standard AR-15 lower receiver and accepts standard mil-spec charging handles and standard-length port door hardware. Complete with laser-engraved T-marks on the top Picatinny rail and an "XL" designation etched onto the tang to prevent mix-ups at the workbench, this receiver bulletproofs your next big-bore thumper project.
