The ALG Defense AK Trigger Enhanced with Lightning Bow (AKT-EL) in Black Manganese Phosphate (MPN: 05-326) is a single-stage replacement trigger designed for AK-47 and AK-74 pattern rifles. Engineered by Geissele / ALG Defense to replace rough, heavy factory fire control groups, the AKT-EL delivers a dramatically smoother, shorter trigger pull with a crisp break and rapid tactile reset for improved shooter control.
Precision-machined in the USA from triple alloy tool steel, the AKT-EL features a durable black Manganese Phosphate finish designed to withstand carbon exposure and environmental wear. The hallmark of the AKT-EL is ALG’s proprietary "Lightning Bow" geometry, which combines the benefits of a flat-face trigger with a comfortable subtle curve for ideal index finger placement. The trigger assembly ships with an auxiliary main spring that allows users to adjust the pull weight from approximately 3.5 lbs up to a heavier ~6.0 lb pull for duty or defensive applications.

Armorer Bench Notes & Real-World Staging Guidance:
Fitment Matrix: Fits standard stamped and milled AK-47, AKM, and AK-74 variants chambered in 7.62x39mm and 5.45x39mm. (Note: NOT compatible with 12 Gauge Saiga/Vepr shotguns, .308 Win, or 7.62x54r AK variants. Due to wide tolerances in AK receivers, minor fitting of the disconnector or safety stop roll pin may be required for proper safety selector engagement).
- Perform a complete firearm safety check: retract the charging handle, lock or hold the bolt rearward, and visually/physically inspect the chamber and receiver well to verify zero live rounds are present.
- Field strip the rifle by removing the top receiver cover, recoil spring assembly, bolt carrier, and safety selector lever.
- Remove the factory trigger retaining wire or plate, then punch out the trigger and hammer axis pins to detach the OEM fire control group.
- Install the ALG disconnector, disconnector spring, and trigger body over the trigger axis pin, ensuring proper placement of the main spring legs over the trigger tails.
- Install the ALG hammer and hammer axis pin, ensuring the hammer spring arms are cocked and tensioned properly.
- Reinstall the safety selector, fit the roll pin to the safety leg stop if needed for proper safety engagement, and perform a thorough manual function test (verifying safety block, trigger break, disconnector catch, and reset) before live firing.
