440C is a proven American high-chromium stainless steel celebrated for excellent corrosion immunity, impact toughness, and field sharpenability. Maintain the protective FDE CeraKote blade finish by wiping the steel clean after moisture exposure and drying it thoroughly. Apply a light wipe of synthetic oil along the plain cutting edge before long-term storage. Wash the FDE injection-molded sheath with warm water and mild soap as needed to remove dust, lint, or grit.
