(Note: Will fit 96 series .40 S&W pistols when converted to 9mm with 9mm magazines, but not compatible with 92S heel-release models without minor slide modification, nor 92X Performance steel-frame models without verifying slide relief clearances).
- Perform a complete firearm safety check: drop the magazine, lock the slide rearward, and visually inspect the chamber to verify zero live rounds are present.
- Press the takedown lever release button on the right side of the frame while rotating the takedown lever downward 90 degrees.
- Slide the factory upper receiver assembly forward and off the frame rails.
- Compress and remove the recoil spring guide rod and spring assembly from the underside of the slide.
- Depress the locking block plunger on the factory barrel, lift the barrel assembly up and out of the slide housing.
- Insert the new Beretta JB92TH 3rd Gen threaded barrel into the slide until the locking block drops into place.
- Reinstall the recoil spring assembly, slide the upper assembly back onto the frame rails, rotate the takedown lever back to the horizontal locked position, and perform a dry-fire function test.
