The Bravo Company Mfg (BCM) MCMR 8-Inch M-LOK® Compatible Modular Rail in Black (SKU: BCM-MCMR-8-556-BLK / UPC: 812526021663) is a lightweight, slim-profile free-float handguard designed to provide modular accessory mounting and hand clearance on AR-15 carbines, short-barreled rifles (SBRs), and AR pistols. Derived from BCM’s combat-proven KMR rail system, the MCMR delivers the same rock-solid locking architecture using the M-LOK® open-source mounting interface.
Precision-machined from high-strength, aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum, the MCMR features a smooth, narrow cross-section that fits comfortably in the support hand. The rail design incorporates M-LOK® mounting slots at the 1:30, 3:00, 4:30, 6:00, 7:30, 9:00, and 10:30 positions, giving operators 360-degree flexibility for attaching tactical lights, foregrips, sling mounts, and rail panels while eliminating unnecessary bulk.
Utilizing BCM’s patented mechanical lock-up system, the rail clamps onto a proprietary steel barrel nut with dual cross-bolts that resist thermal movement and barrel rotation under hard use. Fitment Matrix: Direct fitment for standard AR-15 upper receivers. Designed for short-barreled rifle (SBR) setups or pistol builds utilizing pistol-length or carbine-length gas systems with a low-profile gas block. Will NOT clear factory A2 front sight base (FSB) assemblies without removing the front sight block or cutting down the sight tower.
- Ensure the host rifle is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically verified empty.
- Install the included BCM steel barrel nut onto the upper receiver threads, applying aero-shell grease, and torque to 40-50 ft-lbs using the supplied BCM barrel nut wrench.
- Slide the MCMR handguard over the barrel nut—note that BCM handguards feature a thermal fit and may require slight heating of the rail receiver joint with a heat gun for smooth sliding fitment.
- Install the indexing plate, insert the dual mounting cross-bolts, and torque evenly to 30-40 in-lbs before staging.
