Excessive bolt speed increases felt recoil, accelerates internal part wear, and causes bolt bounce during rapid semi-automatic cycling. The Bravo Company BCM MK2 Mod 1 T2 Buffer (BCM-BFMK2-M1-T2) addresses these recoil and timing issues by offering a 5.6 oz intermediate-length standalone buffer designed specifically for tuning BCM’s MK2 Recoil Mitigation System.

Precision-machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum with a hardcoat anodized matte black finish, the MK2 Mod 1 T2 buffer features increased internal counterweight travel to virtually eliminate bolt bounce. An internal spring cushions the shifting tungsten and steel counterweights, ensuring quiet operation and consistent weight placement throughout the stroke cycle. At 5.6 ounces, the T2 weight provides the ideal tuning point for over-gassed carbines, mid-length gassed 14.5"/16" barrels, or suppressed platforms requiring enhanced lockup delay and smoother ejection dynamics.

Compatibility Warning: The BCM MK2 Mod 1 buffer series is ONLY compatible with intermediate-length buffer tubes, specifically the BCM MK2 Receiver Extension (or VLTOR A5 intermediate extension) paired with an M16A4 rifle-length action spring. It is NOT compatible with standard short carbine buffer tubes or standard carbine action springs. Using this buffer in a standard carbine tube will prevent the bolt carrier group from locking back and can cause severe mechanical damage.

Installation Sequence:

  1. Safety check the firearm, remove the magazine, and physically/visually inspect the chamber to confirm an empty weapon.
  2. Ensure your lower receiver is equipped with a BCM MK2 (A5-length) receiver extension and an M16A4 rifle action spring.
  3. Depress the buffer retainer pin and insert the M16A4 rifle spring into the buffer tube.
  4. Slide the MK2 T2 buffer into the spring until the forward face seats behind the buffer retainer pin.
  5. Reassemble the upper and lower receivers, perform complete manual function checks, and verify positive bolt catch engagement on an empty magazine.
