Product Description

The CMMG 22LR AR Conversion Kit BRAVO (22BA651) is a complete drop-in conversion system engineered to adapt standard 5.56x45mm NATO and .223 Remington AR-15 rifle platforms to fire economical .22 Long Rifle ammunition. By utilizing your rifle's existing barrel, receiver, trigger group, and furniture, this kit allows for high-volume marksmanship practice, tactical force-on-force drills, and field plinking with a drastic reduction in ammunition costs and recoil impulse.

The core of the BRAVO kit is a self-contained, blowback-operated conversion bolt group constructed from high-grade stainless steel for exceptional wear resistance and smooth mechanical cycling. The bolt unit replaces your rifle's standard 5.56/.223 direct-impingement bolt carrier group (BCG) without requiring permanent modifications, gunsmithing, or barrel changes. It features an integrated chamber adapter that slides directly into the host rifle's 5.56 NATO / .223 Rem chamber to seal gas and index incoming .22LR rimfire cartridges.

Included with the BRAVO kit are three full-size 25-round polymer .22LR magazines designed to lock securely into standard AR-15 lower receiver magwells. The magazines incorporate high-tensile steel springs and anti-tilt followers to ensure reliable round presentation under rapid firing. For best performance, CMMG recommends pairing the unit with 36-grain round-nosed high-velocity .22LR ammunition inside barrels featuring 1:7 to 1:9 twist rates.

*Armorer Bench Notes & Real-World Staging Guidance:*

Fitment Matrix: Direct drop-in compatibility for MIL-SPEC direct impingement 5.56x45mm NATO and .223 Remington AR-15 upper receivers. (Not compatible with piston-driven AR systems, 9mm PCCs, or non-MIL-SPEC upper receiver dimensions).

1. Clear the firearm completely, verify the chamber is empty, press out the rear takedown pin, and remove the standard 5.56/.223 bolt carrier group and charging handle.
2. Reinstall the factory charging handle halfway, insert the CMMG stainless steel .22LR conversion bolt assembly into the upper receiver, and press the chamber adapter seated completely into the barrel extension.
3. Close the upper receiver, push the takedown pin home, and function test the action manually with an empty chamber to ensure smooth cycling of the bolt guide rods.
4. After firing .22LR rimfire ammunition (which runs dirty and leaves lead/powder residue), fire 3 to 5 rounds of standard 5.56mm jacketed ammo through the host barrel to blow out carbon buildup from the gas port and tube.
