The Edgar Sherman Design (ESD) Padded Sling (ESD-SL-PAD-MCT) is a 2026-spec evolution of one of the most respected minimalist slings in the tactical industry. While the original ESD sling set the standard for lightweight, low-friction movement, the padded version introduces a 0.25-inch thick closed-cell EVA foam pad designed for long-duration comfort without the bulk of traditional "couch cushion" slings. Finished in Multicam Tropic, this sling is optimized for lush, high-vegetation environments. A key innovation in the ESD Padded Sling is its coreless body design; unlike competitors that sew a 1-inch webbing strip through the center of the padding, ESD removes the webbing core and uses multiple layers of Cordura oriented for maximum strength. This allows the weight of the rifle to displace across the full 2-inch width of the pad, preventing the "collapsing" effect that causes neck fatigue during 8+ hour training days.
