The FAB Defense PDC-AK Picatinny Scope Mount Dust Cover solves the age-old dilemma of mounting optics to standard AK-47 and AKM rifle platforms without sacrificing zero. Engineered as a direct drop-in replacement for factory stamped sheet metal dust covers, the PDC provides a solid, rigid optic platform while maintaining access to internal receiver components. At the core of the PDC system is its unique, manually adjustable retention thumb wheel mechanism located at the rear receiver latch. This front-lip tensioning system locks the dust cover tightly against the receiver, eliminating rotational movement, vertical play, and zero shift commonly experienced with traditional hinged or aftermarket top covers. - Clear the action, verify the firearm is unloaded, and remove the factory recoil spring assembly and stamped dust cover.
- Hook the front lip of the FAB Defense PDC into the rear sight block groove, then pivot the cover down over the receiver bolt carrier.
- Depress the rear recoil spring guide pin through the cover latch slot, then turn the manual tensioning wheel clockwise until the cover sits completely snug with zero front-to-back or side-to-side play.
