- Verify host firearm is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically confirmed empty.
- Remove the upper receiver from the lower receiver and drift the ejection port hinge pin forward to release the old dust cover.
- Ensure the internal detent ball and spring are properly positioned within the Fortis Billet Dust Cover housing.
- Position the dust cover spring correctly, slide the hinge pin back through the receiver eyelets and new dust cover, and secure with the C-clip retainer.
