- Ensure the host firearm is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically verified empty.
- Grasp the adjustment lever and firmly pull downward on both sides of the pivot latch cross-pin to completely retract the locking pin clear of the housing.
- Align the stock channel with the rear edge of the Mil-Spec buffer tube and slide the unit forward over the tube.
