The LaRue Tactical MBT-2S Straight Bow Trigger (LTMBT2SSB) is widely regarded as one of the finest two-stage match triggers available for AR-15 and AR-10 platforms. Precision-machined out of solid S7 tool steel plates—a material renowned for its extreme shock resistance and durability—the MBT-2S provides a crisp, glass-like break, rapid reset, and long-term mechanical consistency for precision marksmanship, duty, and competition builds.
Featuring a straight (flat) bow blade geometry with a subtle bottom hook, the LTMBT2SSB allows shooters to place their finger lower on the blade for increased mechanical leverage, resulting in a lighter perceived pull weight and superior trigger isolation. The two-stage system features a smooth 2.5 lb first stage take-up followed by a clean, predictable 2.0 lb break (4.5 lb total combined weight with the factory-installed light spring).
Every LaRue MBT-2S ships complete with an optional heavy trigger spring that increases the total pull weight to 6.0 lbs (2.5 lb first stage / 3.5 lb second stage) for duty applications where heavier trigger resistance is desired. It fits standard small-pin (.154") AR lower receivers.
*Armorer Bench Notes & Real-World Staging Guidance:
Fitment Matrix: Direct drop-in fit for standard small-pin (.154") AR-15 and AR-10 / SR-25 lower receivers. (Will NOT fit large-pin Colt lowers made from 1989-2009).
- Verify lower receiver is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically confirmed empty.
- Install trigger spring onto the trigger body and place the disconnector and disconnector spring into the rear trigger pocket.
- Lower trigger body into the receiver pocket, align with the rear pivot hole, and drive in the rear .154" trigger pin from left to right.
- Install hammer spring onto the hammer body, cock legs forward over the trigger pin, align with the front pivot hole, and drive in the front hammer pin.
- Perform complete safety and function checks (Safe, Semi, reset, and safety engage tests) before chambering live ammunition.
