Fitment Matrix: Fits standard mil-spec dimension AR-15 and AR-10/LR-308 lower receivers. Requires a mil-spec size carbine stock (not compatible with larger commercial-spec buttstocks).
- Perform a complete firearm safety check: drop the magazine, pull the charging handle rearward, and visually inspect the chamber to verify zero live rounds are present.
- Separate the upper receiver from the lower receiver by removing the takedown and pivot pins.
- Thread the castle nut onto the MBUF002-WB buffer tube with the notched end facing rearward, followed by the lower receiver endplate.
- Thread the buffer tube into the rear of the lower receiver until it traps the buffer retainer pin and spring beneath its lip.
- Ensure the rear takedown pin spring and detent are properly captured under the endplate, then press the endplate flush against the receiver.
- Thread the castle nut forward against the endplate and torque to 38–40 ft-lbs using an armorer’s castle nut wrench. Stake the endplate into one of the castle nut notches for maximum security.
- Install your carbine recoil spring, carbine buffer, and preferred mil-spec stock to verify smooth 6-position lockup and travel.
