Engineered specifically for precision tactical shooters, law enforcement marksmen, and night-hunting predator control specialists, this 13.7-inch fully enclosed forend brings serious electro-optic mounting capability to compact bolt guns. By enclosing the barrel within a rigid tubular exoskeleton, it provides complete 360-degree protection while preserving an absolute free-float barrel channel to maximize cold-bore accuracy and shot-to-shot consistency.
Precision CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade billet aluminum, the forend delivers maximum structural rigidity and torsional resistance against hard barricade resting, heavy bipod loading, and tripod staging. Fitment Matrix: Direct modular fit exclusively for MDT LSS GEN3 Chassis Base systems running 14.5-inch or longer barrels. Clearance accommodates up to 1.250-inch tapered barrel contours. CRITICAL: NOT compatible with 1.250-inch straight non-tapered bull barrels. NOT compatible with legacy MDT LSS Gen 1 or Gen 2 chassis, nor MDT ESS, ACC, or standard AR-15 threaded barrel nuts. Installation does not require removing your barreled action. Fastener torque specs: Degrease threads, apply Blue Loctite® 242/243 to the included 8-32 flat-head mounting screws, and torque in an alternating crisscross pattern strictly to 25-30 in-lbs to ensure true co-linear night-vision alignment.
- Ensure the host rifle is completely unloaded, magazine removed, bolt removed or locked open, chamber visually and physically confirmed empty, and all live ammunition cleared from the maintenance bench.
- Clean the mating chassis interface and internal alignment dowel pin channels on the LSS Gen3 chassis base using isopropyl alcohol.
- Slide the enclosed 13.7-inch tactical forend over the barrel, indexing the chassis alignment dowels into the precision-machined receiving pockets on the front of the chassis base.
- Hand-thread the included 8-32 flat-head cap screws with medium-strength blue threadlocker through the forend mounting holes into the chassis base.
- Using a calibrated armorer torque wrench, torque the fasteners in a crisscross sequence to 25-30 in-lbs, verify consistent barrel free-float clearance along the entire 13.7-inch internal channel, test clip-on optic co-linear height, and stage for range qualification.
