Midwest Industries Alpha Series Side-Folding 1913 Picatinny AK Stock - Black - MI-AK-ALPHA-FS

Product Description

Upgrading a classic AK-47, AK-74, or modern tactical firearm variant for close-quarters agility and storage packing reveals an immediate mechanical bottleneck: static stock constraints and loose, wobble-prone folding hinges. Standard fixed rifle stocks lock you into a single length of pull that fails to adapt when transitioning to heavy winter clothing, chest rigs, or high-plate body armor panels. Furthermore, typical aftermarket folders utilize weak pot-metal cast hinges that flex under heavy vertical recoil or bind when debris gets trapped in the mechanism. The **Midwest Industries Alpha Series Side-Folding Stock (MI-AK-ALPHA-FS)** completely eliminates these handling liabilities, packaging a heavy-duty, match-grade folding engine built to drag the iconic AK platform directly into the 21st century.

Precision CNC-machined from a monolithic fusion of premium 6061-T6 structural aerospace aluminum alloy, high-strength polymers, and heat-treated alloy steels, the Alpha Series stock provides outstanding unyielding stiffness. The primary aluminum skeleton body is finished in a uniform, non-reflective MIL-SPEC Type III hardcoat anodized black jacket that actively repels trail moisture, corrosive sweat, and harsh bore cleaning solvents. At the core of its utility is a heavy-duty side-folding mechanism engineered from **4140 heat-treated steel**, featuring a full-length structural locking lug with a massive steel clamp surface. This premium metal layout eliminates loose play or hinge flex, ensuring a rock-solid, positive solid-state lockup in both the extended and collapsed configurations.

In high-velocity tactical indexing or demanding multi-gun matches, the ergonomic adjustability of the Alpha stock allows operators to dial in custom cheek weld lines instantly. It features a curved, adjustable polymer cheek piece that slides seamlessly to maximize eye relief when running low-profile red dots or elevated optic risers. The rubber recoil buttpad is paired with a **5-position locking beam** activated via a texturized tactile push-button, adjusting lengths from 8.0 inches up to 11.0 inches to accommodate diverse physical statures. Outfitted with three independent quick-detach (QD) sling swivel anchor pockets and an ambidextrous reversible hinge tracking architecture that can be configured to fold to the right or left side, this American-made stock locks down your performance tracking pipeline.

*Armorer Bench Notes & Technical Installation Guidance: The Midwest Industries MI-AK-ALPHA-FS stock attaches natively to any firearm equipped with a standard **vertical 1913 Picatinny rail stock adapter backend interface**. This includes modern SIG MCX/MPX platforms, CZ Scorpion builds, Ruger PCCs, and standard AK-47 stamped or milled receivers retrofitted with a 1913 rear trunnion adapter (such as Strike Industries or PWS rear blocks). ARMORER SAFETY NOTICE: When configuring this item, ensure your assembly remains fully compliant with all local, state, and federal NFA or ATF regulations regarding overall rifle length thresholds. When setting up the hinge on your workbench, the unit can be completely reversed by unscrewing the central hinge block assembly to swap the spring tension rotation path for right-side or left-side folding preference. Periodically clear away field grit or unburnt carbon flake from the 4140 locking lug face using a dry nylon brush, and apply a single droplet of synthetic tool lubricant inside the detent button spring well to lock in smooth, glassy field manipulation splits.

Key Features

  • 4140 Heat-Treated Steel Hinge: Heavy-duty side-folding mechanism uses a full-length locking lug to permanently cut out joint wobble or hinge flex under heavy recoil.
  • 5-Position Adjustable Beam: Features a texturized push-button that smoothly modifies stock extension from 8.0 inches to 11.0 inches for immediate armor-plate adaptation.
  • Multi-Height Polymer Cheek Riser: Integrated curved cheek piece can be adjusted vertically to lock in a fast, natural cheek weld and line up with modern red dots or scopes.
  • Ambidextrous Reversible Folding: Advanced unibody design allows armorers to configure the folding track to flip to the right or left side depending on bolt lever clearance.
  • Brace-to-Stock Conversions: Ships configured for rifle stock use but is fully cross-compatible with Gear Head Works Tailhook accessories for custom pistol arm brace setups.

    Midway Ind Alpha Stock

Had the best experience buying from HOTA. The stock was mounted on a Zastava m92. It is an excellent stock for this platform. With the check piece elevation, you get a perfect cheek weld for dust cover mounted red dots .The butt piece mounts really well on your chest for a solid shooting stance. It is heavy. I would love to see a V2.0 with some skeletonizing on the shaft for weight reduction.
