Clamping torque: Tighten the four mounting claw screws evenly in an alternating X-pattern to 20–25 in-lbs using medium-strength blue threadlocker (Vibra-TITE / Loctite 242). Do NOT exceed 25 in-lbs to prevent receiver lug deformation.
- Ensure the host MP5/SP5 firearm is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically verified empty.
- Clean the upper receiver stamped optic lugs thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove factory packing oil, dirt, and carbon fouling.
- Loosen the four clamp screws on the MI-MP5TR-G2 so the steel clamping feet swing freely, then seat the rail centrally over the receiver lugs forward of the rear rotary drum sight.
- Apply a drop of blue threadlocker to each fastener thread, snug the screws by hand, and verify that all four steel claws are seated evenly underneath the stamped receiver mounting tabs.
- Torque the four screws in an alternating X-pattern evenly to 20–25 in-lbs using an inch-pound torque wrench, then manually cycle the cocking handle into the locking notch and release to confirm complete charging clearance.
