CRITICAL: Re-uses your existing factory magazine catch bar and magazine catch spring. For Aero Precision M5 lowers, ensure proper engagement depth on the threaded catch shaft or utilize an extended button stem. Incompatible with custom billet lowers that incorporate oversized magazine fence shrouds or integral right-side ambidextrous controls that intrude on the paddle radius. Apply medium-strength blue threadlocker to the two paddle screws; do NOT exceed 8 to 10 in-lbs of torque to prevent thread stripping in the aluminum base.
- Ensure the host firearm is completely clear, magazine removed, bolt locked to the rear, and the chamber visually and physically confirmed empty.
- Separate the upper receiver from the lower receiver; remove the factory magazine release button by depressing the button deep into the receiver cavity while unthreading the magazine catch bar counter-clockwise from the left side.
