The Rearden Manufacturing FHD Flash Hider is a precision-engineered muzzle device designed to provide maximum flash suppression while serving as a ultra-reliable mounting interface for taper-mount suppressors. Machined from 17-4 PH stainless steel and finished with an attractive heat-treated gold finish, the FHD delivers exceptional thermal stability and corrosion resistance under aggressive firing schedules. Threaded in standard 5/8x24 UNEF, this muzzle device is optimized for .30 caliber rifle barrels including .308 Winchester, 300 AAC Blackout, and 6.5 Creedmoor platforms.

Featuring a three-prong architecture, the FHD disruptively disperse high-pressure muzzle gases to eliminate visible flash signatures in low-light environments. Externally, the device utilizes an industry-standard Plan B taper geometry, making it fully cross-compatible with the Rearden Atlas, Atlas XL, and Q Plan B suppressor mount adapters. The forward taper seals carbon and unburnt powder residue away from the mounting threads, preventing thermal carbon lock and ensuring clean, repeatable tool-less suppressor attachment and removal.

Engineered with rear wrench flats positioned behind the mounting taper, the FHD allows armorers to apply torque cleanly without marring precision sealing surfaces. Because taper-mount interfaces rely on precise axial alignment rather than timing washers, installation is straightforward and eliminates the need for problematic peel washers or crush washers that can introduce bullet strike risks.

*Armorer Bench Notes & Real-World Staging Guidance:

Fitment Matrix: Fits 5/8x24 threaded barrels with up to .30 caliber / .338 bore clearance. Fully compatible with Rearden Atlas, Atlas XL, and Q Plan B taper mounting systems.

Thoroughly clean and degrease barrel muzzle threads using a wire brush and solvent; do NOT use a crush washer or peel washer.

Apply a high-temperature threadlocker (Rocksett recommended) directly to the 5/8x24 muzzle threads.

Thread the FHD onto the barrel shoulder and torque to 25–30 ft-lbs using a thin 13/16" or 7/8" wrench applied strictly to the rear wrench flats. Allow Rocksett to cure for 24 hours before firing with or without a suppressor attached.
