- Perform a complete firearm safety check: drop any inserted magazine, lock the slide rearward, and visually inspect the chamber to verify the firearm is unloaded.
- Load .45 ACP cartridges manually or using a magazine speed loader, pressing each round fully rearward against the back wall of the magazine housing.
