- Perform a complete firearm safety check: drop the magazine, lock the slide rearward, and visually inspect the chamber to ensure zero live rounds are present.
- Lock the slide rearward, rotate the takedown lever, and carefully remove the slide assembly from the host polymer frame.
- Push out the retention pins securing the Ruger RXM Fire Control Unit (FCU) inside the factory frame.
