*Mandatory Requirement: Shield Arms strongly recommends installing a metal magazine catch (such as the Shield Arms Z9 Steel Mag Catch). Running steel Z9 magazines with the factory plastic OEM mag catch will cause premature wear on the plastic catch.
- Verify host Glock 43 is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically confirmed empty before servicing.
- Ensure a steel magazine catch is installed in the frame prior to daily use with Z9 magazines.
- Load 9mm Luger cartridges manually or using an approved speed loader, ensuring each rim seats fully against the rear spine wall.
- Insert loaded magazine firmly into the magwell until the steel magazine catch locks in place with an audible click.
- To clean internal components, depress the floorplate locking pin, slide the baseplate forward, and remove spring and follower for wiping down. Keep internal surfaces dry.
