- Perform a complete safety clearance: drop the magazine, lock the action to the rear, and visually and physically verify the chamber and magwell are entirely clear of live ammunition.
- Unscrew the rear cap of the brass boresighter cartridge, insert the three included LR41 button cell batteries positive side down, and thread the cap closed until the red laser turns on.

- Guide the slide forward gently by hand until the breach face contacts the base of the boresighter; do not allow the slide to slam shut under full spring tension.
