The Strike Industries Advanced Receiver Extension (ARE) is a premium, 7-position Mil-Spec buffer tube engineered to deliver structural rigidity, weight savings, and precise length-of-pull customization for AR-15 and AR-10/LR-308 platforms. Precision CNC-machined from high-strength 7075-T6 aluminum, the ARE features a unique scalloped geometry that reduces overall weight without compromising structural integrity or duty-grade drop impact durability.
Unlike standard 6-position GI buffer tubes, the Strike Industries ARE offers 7 adjustment positions to give shooters finer, micro-incremental control over length-of-pull—ideal for adapting to heavy body armor, chest rigs, or thin clothing layers. Its enhanced, lengthened support lips at the front of the tube support the bolt carrier group further forward, reducing carrier tilt and bolt wear during cycling.

Fitment Matrix: Direct fit for Mil-Spec AR-15 and AR-10 / SR-25 lower receivers. Requires Mil-Spec diameter buttstocks (1.145"–1.148" outer diameter). Note: Not compatible with Commercial-spec diameter stocks, rifle-length buffer springs, or A5 buffer systems.
- Verify host lower receiver is completely clear, safe, and unloaded before installation.
- Thread the receiver extension into the lower receiver while capturing the buffer retainer pin and spring under the integrated retention tabs; seat the end plate flush against the rear of the receiver.
- Torque castle nut to 38–40 ft-lbs using an armorer's wrench and stake the end plate into castle nut notches to prevent backing out under recoil.
