The Strike Industries GRIDLOK LITE 15-Inch M-LOK Handguard (SI-GRIDLOK-LITE-15-BK) in Anodized Matte Black is an advanced, one-piece free-float rail system designed to deliver tool-free modularity and maximum operational versatility for AR-15 platforms. Utilizing Strike’s patented Quick Rail Detach (QD) system, the GRIDLOK LITE allows armorers and shooters to remove the main handguard section in seconds via a spring-loaded locking lever—providing instant access to adjustable gas blocks or facilitating rapid suppressor installation.
Precision CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum paired with a high-strength 7000-series aluminum barrel nut, the GRIDLOK LITE minimizes overall weight while ensuring rigid barrel stabilization. The handguard features an integrated flip-up front BackUp Iron Sight (BUIS) built directly into the top Picatinny rail, eliminating the need for add-on front sight towers. With an internal diameter of 1.57 inches, the front muzzle recess is engineered to tuck suppressors and linear compensators up to 1.57” in diameter (including the SI OPPRESSOR) cleanly inside the handguard.
Equipped with M-LOK mounting slots at 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 11 o'clock positions, rear anti-rotation tabs with centering set screws, and an integrated 360-degree free-swivel QD sling socket at the base, the SI-GRIDLOK-LITE-15-BK provides complete accessory layout freedom for duty, competition, and tactical builds.
*Armorer Bench Notes & Real-World Staging Guidance:*
Fitment Matrix: Fits standard Mil-Spec M4/AR-15 upper receivers. Accommodates suppressors and muzzle devices up to 1.57" (39.9mm) outer diameter. Not compatible with piston gas blocks, some billet upper receivers, or carbine-length gas systems with A2 front sight posts.
- Ensure the host rifle is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically verified empty.
- Install the included 7000-series aluminum barrel nut onto upper receiver threads using the supplied barrel nut wrench, torquing to 30–50 ft-lbs. Utilize included shims if timing alignment is required.
- Slide the GRIDLOK LITE handguard assembly over the barrel nut until rear anti-rotation tabs align with the upper receiver top flat.
- Engage the Quick Detach locking latch lever to clamp the handguard body securely to the barrel nut. Adjust tension via the locking base screws when demounted if fine-tuning clamp tightness is necessary.
