- Ensure the upper receiver is completely disassembled, clean, and free of dirt or burrs.
- Install the ejection port door spring onto the dust cover hinge rod, aligning the long leg of the spring against the inside face of the dust cover.
- Slide the purple anodized dust cover assembly into the upper receiver hinge loops, capture the spring tension, and push the hinge rod completely through until secured by the C-clip or internal retention detent.
- Insert the forward assist assembly, pawl, spring, and roll pin into the receiver pocket; drive the roll pin flush using a 3/32" roll pin punch, verifying smooth, spring-backed forward assist actuation.
