- Inspect the rifle upper receiver top rail; verify the Picatinny slots are free of carbon buildup, dirt, or mounting debris.
- Loosen both TA51 mount thumbscrews manually until the cross-bolts seat fully into the receiver rail recoil grooves.
- Push the ACOG assembly forward toward the muzzle end of the receiver slot to seat the recoil lugs against the rail interface before final torque.
- Hand-tighten both thumbscrews firmly, then use a coin or flat-head torque driver to secure them to manufacturer-recommended torque specs (approx. 45-50 in-lbs).
- Remove the RCR battery cap, insert a fresh CR2032 battery with positive (+) facing outward, and torque the cap down using the provided tool.
- Establish primary ACOG zero at 100 meters using the .223 BDC tip of the Red Chevron; adjust the top RCR 1x optic independently at 25 or 50 meters for close-quarters alignment.
