- Verify host handgun is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically confirmed empty before servicing.
- Use a dedicated sight pusher tool or brass drift punch to remove factory rear and front dovetail sights from the slide.
- Clean dovetail slots thoroughly to remove factory finish residue, metal shavings, or dirt.
- Fit the new Trijicon DI sights into the slide dovetails, lightly filing sight base material if necessary for a snug press-fit (do not force oversized sight bases into slide dovetails).
