Fitment & Receiver Compatibility Matrix: Fits standard Mil-Spec AR-15 / M4 Upper Receivers (calibers including 5.56 NATO, .223 Rem, .300 AAC Blackout, 6.5 Grendel, and 9mm PCC conversion uppers). Note: Will NOT fit AR-10 / LR-308 large-frame upper receivers.
Installation Sequence:
- Safety check the firearm: remove magazine, lock bolt carrier group rearward, and physically/visually inspect chamber to verify clear weapon.
- Push out the rear takedown pin and front pivot pin, then separate the upper receiver from the lower receiver.
- Pull the factory charging handle and bolt carrier group halfway out of the upper receiver, then remove the bolt carrier group and factory charging handle completely.
- Align the keyway tabs of the CMC 83700 charging handle into the upper receiver track cutouts and slide it in partially.
- Insert the bolt carrier group into the receiver, pushing both the charging handle and bolt carrier group forward together until the charging handle latch clicks securely over the upper receiver lock notch. Reassemble upper to lower.
