CMC Triggers Ambidextrous Receiver End Plate Fits AR 15 Black CMC EP QD AMBI UPC 810169562499

Product Description

The CMC Triggers® Ambidextrous Receiver End Plate with Quick Detach Sling Mount in Matte Black (SKU: CMC-EP-QD-AMBI / UPC: 810169562499) delivers a robust, combat-ready sling mounting solution engineered specifically for AR-15 and AR-10 carbine platforms. Designed by the precision manufacturing specialists at CMC Triggers, this receiver end plate replaces standard flat Mil-Spec plates with an integrated, central quick-detach socket that allows instant, fluid sling transitions. Whether operating a primary patrol rifle or a dedicated close-quarters home defense setup, this component provides the critical anchor point required for seamless weapon manipulations.

Unlike inexpensive aftermarket end plates constructed from soft aluminum or low-grade sheet metal, the CMC Triggers end plate is precision-manufactured from heat-treated 4130 ordnance steel. This structural metallurgy provides exceptional tensile strength, preventing deformation or thread stripping when subjected to aggressive single-point sling shock loads or rapid shoulder-to-shoulder weapon handoffs. The entire steel plate is treated with a heavy-duty manganese phosphate (Parkerized) finish, meeting military durability requirements to combat sweat, environmental moisture, bore solvents, and abrasive field wear without surface degradation.

Designed around modern tactical single-point and two-point sling deployment, the centrally positioned QD socket provides an ambidextrous interface that eliminates sling tangles and allows smooth off-hand shooting transitions without binding against the buffer tube castle nut. Crucially, the 4130 steel composition allows armorers to execute proper Mil-Spec castle nut staking, forming a permanent mechanical lock that prevents the castle nut from backing off under high-volume recoil. Finished to exact Mil-Spec dimensions, the CMC Ambidextrous QD End Plate installs seamlessly on standard carbine buffer extensions, delivering proven reliability and Texas-crafted quality.

*Armorer Bench Notes & Real-World Staging Guidance:*

Fitment Matrix: Direct fit for all Mil-Spec and Commercial AR-15, M4, M16, and AR-10 / SR-25 / LR-308 lower receivers using collapsible carbine, pistol, or VLTOR A5 receiver extensions. CRITICAL: NOT compatible with fixed A1/A2 rifle receiver extensions. CAUTION ON ASSEMBLY: Take care not to kink or compress the rear takedown pin detent spring during end plate alignment. Torquing and Staking Protocol: Torque castle nut to 38-42 ft-lbs with Aeroshell 33MS / Mil-Spec grease applied to buffer tube threads; stake the 4130 steel end plate lip into at least one castle nut notch using a center punch to prevent rotation under sling tension.

  1. Ensure the host firearm is completely clear, magazine removed, bolt locked back, chamber visually and physically verified empty, and all live ammunition removed from the maintenance area.
  2. Slide the castle nut onto the receiver extension threads with the staking notches oriented toward the muzzle, followed by the CMC Ambidextrous QD End Plate with the indexing lug facing forward.
  3. Carefully align the rear takedown pin spring and detent into the lower receiver channel, ensuring the spring compresses straight into the channel as the end plate slides flush against the rear receiver face.
  4. Thread the receiver extension into the lower receiver until it captures the buffer retainer pin and spring, seat the end plate indexing lug firmly into the receiver notch, hand-tighten the castle nut, and torque to 38-42 ft-lbs using an armorer castle nut wrench.
  5. Secure the lower receiver in an armorer vise block, position an automatic center punch against the forward lip of the 4130 steel end plate aligned with a castle nut notch, strike to displace metal into the notch for positive staking, test QD sling swivel lockup and release, and perform a full function check.

Key Features

  • Heat-Treated 4130 Steel Metallurgy: Heavy-duty ordnance steel construction provides maximum shear strength and resists deformation under heavy dynamic sling stress.
  • Ambidextrous Quick-Detach Socket: Centered QD interface accommodates left- and right-handed shooters for rapid single-point and two-point sling manipulations.
  • Manganese Phosphate Surface Protection: Mil-Spec Parkerized black finish delivers superior corrosion defense, oil retention, and a non-reflective tactical appearance.
  • True Armorer Stakeable Architecture: High-tensile steel lip permits clean, permanent punch staking into castle nut notches to prevent back-out.
  • Universal Carbine Receiver Compatibility: Engineered to interface seamlessly with Mil-Spec, Commercial, pistol, and intermediate A5 receiver extensions.
  • Takedown Spring Retention Channel: Precision machined indexing lug ensures perfect alignment and captures the takedown pin detent spring without binding.
