The free-floating two-piece design allows the lower rail section to be quickly removed for direct mounting of M203 and M320 grenade launchers without altering upper receiver mounting stability or barrel harmonisation.

Fitment Matrix: Fits standard AR-15 upper receivers equipped with carbine-length gas systems and fixed A2 Front Sight Posts (FSP/FSB). Utilizes the standard RIS II / RIS III steel barrel nut.
- Perform a complete firearm safety check: drop the magazine, lock the bolt rearward, and visually inspect the chamber to verify zero live rounds are present.
- Drive out the front sight post taper pins and muzzle device to remove the factory A2 sight tower, gas tube, and delta ring assembly.
- Install the included Daniel Defense steel barrel nut onto the upper receiver threads and torque to 35–50 ft-lbs using the RIS II/III barrel nut wrench.
- Reinstall the carbine-length A2 front sight post, taper pins, and gas tube onto the barrel.
- Slide the main RIS III handguard housing over the barrel, indexing around the FSP cutout and engaging the bolt-up plate.
- Secure the 6 Grade 8 fasteners in a cross-pattern to 29–32 in-lbs using the included torque tool before attaching the lower rail section.
