The JMac Customs® MMS (Modular Mounting System) 1913 Picatinny Upper Gas Tube in Black (SKU: GT-KPR9) is an American-made, billet aluminum top rail engineered specifically for the Kalashnikov USA KP-9 pistol, KR-9 rifle, and SBR variants. Purpose-built to eliminate the optic shift and wobble common with traditional stamped dust cover mounts or loose-fitting factory gas tubes, the GT-KPR9 transforms your 9mm sub-gun into a rock-solid, return-to-zero tactical platform.
Machined from a solid billet of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and finished in Type III hardcoat black anodizing, the GT-KPR9 replaces the factory stamped upper gas tube cover. It is designed to bolt directly into JMac Customs MMS lower handguards (such as the HG-AKM-7.72L or HG-AKM-9.62L) using high-tensile hardware, creating an ultra-rigid, unitized front-end system capable of holding a dead zero with micro red dot sights, IR illuminators, and tactical aiming lasers under aggressive firing cycles.

*Armorer Bench Notes & Real-World Staging Guidance:*
Fitment Matrix: Direct fit for Kalashnikov USA KP-9, KR-9, and K-9 platforms. CRITICAL: Requires a JMac Customs MMS Lower Handguard (HG-AKM series) for installation; will NOT mount to factory plastic/wood lower handguards or other aftermarket rails. When torquing the four upper-to-lower mounting cross-bolts, apply non-permanent blue threadlocker (Vibra-TITE / Loctite 242) and torque evenly to 15 in-lbs.
- Ensure the host KP-9 is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically verified empty.
- Field strip the dust cover, recoil spring, bolt assembly, and remove the factory gas tube / upper handguard and lower handguard.
- Install the JMac MMS Lower Handguard first into the receiver socket and lock the handguard retainer.
- Place the GT-KPR9 1913 gas tube over the barrel into position, aligning the side mounting lugs with the lower handguard threaded holes.
- Install the four supplied mounting bolts loosely, confirm proper alignment with the rear sight block and receiver, and torque in an alternating X-pattern to 15 in-lbs before reassembling the bolt and dust cover.
