Fitment Matrix: Fits most standard AKM / AK-47 / AK-74 rifles with stamped receivers (1.0mm receiver walls). Will NOT fit Yugo/M70 pattern, milled receivers, or non-standard receiver profiles. Compatible with MI Alpha Series top cover, optic mounts, and railed gas tubes.
- Ensure the host firearm is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically verified empty.
- Remove factory handguard upper and lower sections, gas tube, and handguard retaining cap latch according to standard field strip procedures.
- Position lower handguard assembly onto the receiver, ensuring rear indexing lugs enter the receiver socket cleanly. Engage forward barrel clamp assembly and torque locking hardware evenly to manufacturer specifications using threadlocker.
- Reinstall gas tube or compatible MI Alpha railed gas tube. Verify handguard alignment and ensure no contact with the barrel or gas block interferes with free movement.
