The Midwest Industries Gen2 Two Piece Drop-In Handguard Carbine Length (MCTAR-17G2) is an ultra-lightweight, high-durability drop-in Picatinny quad rail system designed for standard carbine-length AR-15/M4 rifles. Engineered as a direct replacement for factory plastic handguards, the MCTAR-17G2 provides four full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails for mounting weapon lights, vertical foregrips, lasers, and rail covers without permanent firearm modification.

Precision CNC-machined in the USA from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in a Mil-Spec Type III hardcoat anodized black coating, this Gen2 drop-in handguard weighs only 7.5 ounces while providing exceptional structural rigidity. 1. Verify host AR-15 rifle is completely clear, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically confirmed empty.
2. Pull back on the Delta ring (using hand pressure or a delta ring removal tool) and remove existing factory plastic upper and lower handguard halves.
3. Seat the lower half of the MCTAR-17G2 into the front handguard cap and rear delta ring assembly socket.
4. Seat the upper half of the MCTAR-17G2 into position, ensuring top rail indexes flush with upper receiver top rail line.
5. Release delta ring forward to lock both halves into place, and tighten internal lock screws if applicable to ensure zero movement.
