- Secure the upper receiver in an armorer's block and vise to prevent torque transfer to the index pin during installation.
- Ensure the barrel threads are thoroughly degreased and free of particulate debris.
- Place a new 1/2" crush washer over the barrel threads, ensuring the cupped (concave) side faces the receiver.
- Thread the EVOLV compensator onto the barrel by hand until it makes flush contact with the crush washer.
- Using a standard 3/4" armorer's wrench, torque the device until the solid, un-ported section is perfectly timed to the 6 o'clock position (bottom dead center). Do not exceed 20 ft-lbs of torque.
