Featuring a dual-throw selector shaft, the Talon can be installed as a standard 90-degree throw or reconfigured into a fast 45-degree short throw simply by rotating the center shaft during installation. The kit comes standard with one long lever and one short lever, optimizing clearance while preserving leverage for thumb actuation. Fitment Matrix: Compatible with mil-spec AR-15, AR-10, Sig MCX, and Sig MPX platforms. Note that setting the selector to 45-degree short throw requires a lower receiver marked or configured to accommodate short-throw detent engagement.
- Confirm the host firearm is unloaded, safety-checked, and clear of ammunition before separating upper and lower receivers.
- Loosen the pistol grip retaining screw to relieve spring tension on the factory safety selector detent.
- Remove the factory selector bar and detent. Choose desired throw angle (90-degree standard or 45-degree short-throw) indicated on the Talon center shaft.
- Insert the Talon shaft into the lower receiver, reinstall the safety detent pin and spring, then re-secure the pistol grip.
- Push the long and short levers onto the shaft locking pins using the provided detent pin tool until both levers seat with a distinct mechanical click.
- Perform a comprehensive mechanical function check in both Safe and Fire modes to confirm positive detent lockup and trigger block interaction.
