- Clear firearm, verify chamber is empty, remove upper receiver, and loosen pistol grip screw to relieve detent spring tension on current safety selector.
- Extract factory selector and safety detent pin. Select desired throw orientation (90-degree standard or 45-degree short-throw) marked on the Talon selector shaft.
- Insert the Talon shaft into lower receiver housing, reinstall safety detent pin, spring, and tighten pistol grip.
- Slide preferred lever configurations onto spring-loaded locking pins using the included detent tool until locked securely into place.
- Perform full function check in both Safe and Fire positions to verify positive detent engagement and trigger block clearance before live-fire staging.
