1. Verify host firearm is completely unloaded, magazine removed, and chamber visually and physically confirmed clear.
2. Field strip the handgun by locking the slide rearward, rotating the takedown lever upward, and separating the slide assembly from the frame.
3. Remove factory recoil spring assembly and standard 3" barrel from the slide pocket.
4. Insert the HC0901TB-KIT 3.8" threaded barrel into the slide, ensuring proper locking lug engagement against the breech face.
5. Reinstall recoil spring assembly, reassemble slide to frame, thread the self-indexing compensator onto the 1/2x28 muzzle threads until the indexing lever clicks securely into position flush against the slide front face.
