Upgrading a factory Glock 19 for optic-ready staging or custom-building a Polymer80 (P80) 80% receiver often requires aftermarket slide machining to accommodate micro red dot sights. Milling an OEM factory slide can be expensive, time-consuming, and permanent. The TacFire Glock 19 Gen 3 Optic-Ready Stripped Slide (GLKSL19-G2) provides a cost-effective, precision-engineered solution by delivering a pre-machined aftermarket slide cut specifically for the popular Trijicon RMR footprint.
Precision CNC-machined from high-strength 17-4 stainless steel and finished in a durable matte black Nitride coating, the GLKSL19-G2 slide offers exceptional resistance to friction wear, holster abrasion, and environmental corrosion. Aggressive front and rear slide serrations provide positive hand traction, making press checks, rack clears, and single-handed manipulations smooth and reliable—even under wet conditions or while wearing tactical gloves.
Featuring an integrated Trijicon RMR optic cut, this slide directly mounts optics sharing the RMR footprint (such as the Trijicon RMR/SRO and Holosun 407C/507C/508T). Included with the slide is a lightweight anodized cover plate and mounting screws, allowing shooters to run iron sights seamlessly until an optic is staged. Assembly & Installation Sequence:
- Install a new upper slide channel liner using an armorer channel liner tool.
- Install front and rear sights (suppressor-height sights recommended for co-witnessing with a red dot optic).
- Assemble slide internal components (firing pin assembly, safety plunger & spring, extractor, and extractor depressor plunger set).
- Drop in a G19 9mm barrel and recoil spring assembly, applying synthetic lube to slide guide rails and hood contact points.
- Mount your RMR-pattern optic (or included cover plate) using correct length screws—ensuring the right-side screw does not extend too deep and bind against the extractor plunger channel—and torque to 12–15 in-lbs.
