The business end features a 3.13-inch drop point blade forged from classic American 1095 high-carbon steel. The blade stock measures a lean 1/8" (0.125") thick, allowing it to slice cleanly through tough materials without wedging. To protect the high-carbon matrix against rust and eliminate glare, the entire blade is finished in TOPS' signature Black Traction Coating. Spine jimping right above the thumb ramp gives you solid leverage and control during detail carving or skinning tasks.

Applying a light coat of food-safe mineral oil or protective blade lube occasionally keeps rust away. The Tan Canvas Micarta scales require virtually no maintenance, though they will naturally darken slightly with hand oils over time to create a rich, unique patina.
