Designed by TOPS President Leo Espinoza, the Street Scalpel 2.0 (SSS-02) transforms a classic pry-bar thick backup tool into a razor-sharp, agile daily cutter without losing an ounce of structural integrity.
The core of the Street Scalpel 2.0 is a 3.13-inch straight back blade forged from proven 1095 high-carbon steel. To make the knife a significantly better slicer, TOPS slimmed the blade stock down from the original quarter-inch thickness to a versatile 3/16" (0.190") profile. The blade features a clean flat grind and a deep finger choil near the edge, letting you choke up close for fine carving, scoring, or detailed utility work. The steel is fully shielded in TOPS' signature Black Traction Coating to reduce glare and protect the high-carbon matrix against environmental corrosion.
The handle frame has been reshaped with deep finger contours and textured Black Canvas Micarta scales that deliver a rock-solid, slip-resistant grip even in wet, cold, or high-stress environments. Red accent liners beneath the Micarta scales give the handle a subtle custom finish. An exposed pommel with a lanyard hole extends past the scales for extra indexing or light impact utility. Complete with a custom black Kydex sheath equipped with adjustable Beta Loops, the USA-made Street Scalpel 2.0 configures effortlessly for scout carry, IWB, OWB, or appendix belt carry.

Because the Street Scalpel 2.0 is forged from 1095 high-carbon steel, it takes an exceptionally sharp apex and handles impact with ease, but requires basic moisture protection. While the Black Traction Coating shields the main flats, keep the exposed cutting edge and laser-etched markings clean and dry after field use. Applying a thin coat of mineral oil or protective blade lube periodically keeps rust at bay. The Black Canvas Micarta scales require zero maintenance, but can be scrubbed clean with warm soapy water if dirt or grease builds up over time.
