- Verify the host firearm is completely clear and safe: remove the magazine, lock the action rearward, and visually inspect the chamber.
- Loosen the base cross-bolts, position the FAST mount onto the upper receiver Picatinny rail, and push forward toward the muzzle to seat the cross-bolts against the rail recoil slots.
- Torque the rail mount clamp cross-bolts to 35 in-lbs using a calibrated torque wrench.
- Remove the top ring caps, place the 34mm optic into the lower scope cradles, and loosely reinstall the cap screws.
- Adjust scope eye relief and level the reticle vertically using a scope leveling tool or plumb line.
- Tighten the ring cap screws in an alternating "X" pattern, maintaining even gaps on both sides of the caps, until fully torqued to 15–18 in-lbs.
