The Magpul MIAD/MOE AA/AAA Battery Storage Core in Black (MAG056-BLK) is an internal grip accessory engineered to hold two (2) AA or two (2) AAA batteries securely inside standard Magpul MIAD, MOE, MOE-K2, and MOE+ pistol grips. Designed for tactical operators, hunting rigs, and electro-optic staging, this internal core converts unused pistol grip cavity space into a weather-sealed backup power station for red dot sights, holographic optics, weapon lights, and night-vision accessories.
Manufactured from Magpul’s proprietary high-impact polymer, the MAG056-BLK features an internal rubber cap seal that protects spare batteries against water immersion, moisture, dust, and solvent contamination. - Perform a complete firearm safety check: drop the magazine, lock the bolt/action rearward, and visually inspect the chamber to verify zero live rounds are present.
- Unclip the rubber top cap from the storage core housing.
- Select your battery format (2x AA or 2x AAA) and position the internal alignment sleeve/divider as needed.
- Insert the two batteries into the dual internal channels, observing correct orientation.
- Press the rubber seal firmly down over the battery compartment opening until completely flush to establish a weather-tight barrier.
- Align the core assembly with the open bottom cavity of your installed Magpul pistol grip.
- Push the core upward into the grip until the side locking tabs click firmly into the interior side retention slots.
- To retrieve batteries, press the side release tabs inward and pull the core straight down out of the grip base.
